What does it all mean?

It is important to differentiate the differences and correct useages for the terms: Mission; Vision; Values; Purpose; Strategic Thinking; and Strategies.

These can often be confusing to the most experienced business person - let alone entire organisations.

Harding & Yorke can help you understand what each means and how they add value (OR NOT).  We can ensure purposeful contributions from your people and support your communication to the appropriate audiences.

Frequently asked Questions

How much does an Interim Manager Cost?

Harding & Yorke charge a day rate and this will vary depending upon the manager's experience and the nature of your interim assignment.

What is a typical hire period for an Interim Manager?

Interim Managers are generally hired for a short and high intensity term with clearly defined start and finish dates. However, there is the option of retaining on a part-time basis, if that meets your particular needs or budget.

How focused is an Interim Manager?

The temporary nature of the role leaves our Interim Managers relatively free from internal "politics" that can distract permanent staff, enabling them to be 100% focused on the role in hand.  In addition, their experience and familiarity with the specific task improves their effectiveness and can speed up the completion of the assignment.

Who are Interim Managers?

Interim Managers are experienced, hands-on executives and senior managers, who have a proven track record and operate at all levels. Harding & Yorke offer both their own staff and associates for interim assignments.  All Harding & Yorke Interim Managers come with a sound knowledge of Harding &Yorke services and are able to call on specific expertise as required.

How quickly will an Interim Manager take to get to know a business?

An Interim Manager is selected because they understand and have experience of the circumstances you are facing and possess the skills and qualities to be effective from the first day of the assignment.  It is advisable though to spend some time with your Interim Manager and to introduce them to your people and explain any aspects of your business that they may not be aware of.

What effect will an Interim Manager have on permanent staff?

Experience shows that your people are likely to welcome a Harding & Yorke Interim Manager.  This is because of the additional skills and expertise they bring; their appointment is a positive management decision; and it is for a defined period of time, consequently they are rarely seen as a threat.

What happens when the assignment is completed?

The contract will come to an end and there are no termination costs.

What if we want to offer a permanent position?

Harding & Yorke Interim Managers may already be permanently employed by Harding & Yorke and others offered for assignments will indicate whether they are interested in a permanent job, or not.  When a situation arises, and the Interim Manager chooses to accept a permanent position, Harding & Yorke will charge a recruitment fee based on a pre-determined scale included in the contract (if none is included the rate will be typical of other permanent agencies).
