Tom's background is primarily military - son of a serviceman, military boarding school and ex-army (REME) his interests have always been in the technology and the mechanics of how things work.

However, in an unfortunate motorcycle accident combined with a serious rugby injury his career in the Army was cut short.  To re-adjust him to modern civilian life he took an MCSE course to learn a little more about computers and networks.

Upon completing the course he worked as an Installation Engineer and Trainer for a financial service company and this is where he first came across Harding & Yorke.  He moved on to the telephone support sector providing 1^st & 2^nd Line support for another company.

Three years later, he joined Harding & Yorke and was employed as a Project Manager. Within his time at Harding & Yorke he has progressed into a more technical role and now manages the ICT Dept.  

Over the past few years he has been responsible for ensuring the whole company works on laptops and on the same systems, he has also been instrumental in developing databases, voice capture (via the internet) telephony systems and development of the H&Y website.  He ensures the smooth technical running of two offices (Appleford and Stepple Hall) and company communications via mobiles and Blackberry's.  Tom is the main point of contact with all technical suppliers
